History

Andes Chocolate Mints were introduced in 1950 and sold by Andes Candies. The name of the company was originally Andy’s Candies, named by its founder, Andrew Kanelos, after himself. However, he quickly found out that men did not like giving candy to their wives or girlfriends which had another man’s name on it. So he changed the spelling to "Andes.”

Andes Mints are now produced by Tootsie Roll Industies.
