History

GoodMark Foods, Inc. created Andy Capp’s Fries in 1971. They licensed the name and likeness of the comic strip character Andy Capp which was created by Reg Smythe. The Andy Capp strip began in 1957 in the Daily Mirror in England. It still runs today in newspapers all over the world. Until recently, the comic strip was printed on the back of the packages.
