Atomic Fireballs are made by the cold panned process where candy pieces are built from candy centers tossed in revolving pans while flavors, color and other ingredients are added, one at a time until the candy is the desired size.

History

Atomic Fireballs were created in 1954 by Nello Ferrara, son of Salvatore Ferrara who founded Ferrara Pan Candy Company. His dream was to make a spicy candy. Atomic Fireballs were an immediate hit. Within three weeks of sending samples to the Ferrara Pan brokers, orders shot up to 50,000 cases per day. At that time, the company had the capacity to produce 200 cases per day.

Today, it is estimated that 15 million Atomic Fireballs are consumed each week by people all over the world! And the number keeps growing.
